Landscapes 2002-2016

In 2002, David Barbour wanted to challenge his photographic experience by finding a meaningful photograph within walking distance from his home in Ottawa. He chose to photograph at night in the winter with a large format 4x5 Toyo field camera and a 6x12 back to produce panoramas of the city.

The quiet and the stark beauty he discovered appealed to him and to date he has photographed in six provinces in Canada. The project, Home, is a series that deals with the emotion of memory as he returns to places his immediate family has lived.
